2024’s red floor time may have wrapped, but superstars aren’t letting their fascination with going ahead with it.’ s latest outfit from the set of her future movie, A Simple Favor 2, is the definition of every trend taking over carpets from to: It’s marital light, wrapped in pearls, and entirely observe- through.
Between takes and (presumably) in character on the film’s Capri, Italy, set on Thursday, May 30, Lively was dressed like the cross between a summer bride and a Mediterranean sea mermaid. Her on-screen interpretation of the nude featured a saddle neck collar that replaced a pearl- and twinkling crystal-filled netted dress. The celebrity layered a light bustier bodysuit underneath the entire piece because it was completely large. Although there is no indication of her shoes in the photos, one can safely assume that a sea goddess would move on property.
Lively, who is reportedly her own stylist, hasn’t served many looks to the public this year. She made a quick look at a in first May, sporting a 1950s-era dress with a similar mermaid-like vibe. (Thank you for the effect, the rows and rows of scalloped blue beads.) Lively also showed up at the Eras Tour in Madrid this week to show her support for her pal, who was wearing a loose-fitting button-up shirt and Chanel jean shorts, and she stopped by the best (a tracksuit from Adidas x Balenciaga).
Beautiful has avoided the red rug, but her most recent outfit complies with every big trend that has recently appeared at awards shows and debuts. When celebrities take to the carpet, they do so in see-through or incredibly sheer dresses, regardless of whether they are dressed to present an award (like), celebrate a successful walk up the, or toast this year’s Academy Award winners (like half the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty guests).
Lively’s on- collection taking is unique for integrating beachy pearl embellishments, which have turned up in collections because varied as PatBo’s partygirl resortwear and Simone Rocha’s strangely female dresses. The exact reference Lively’s making isn’t yet clear, credits for her look haven’t been released.

For, costume designer Renée Ehrlich Kalfus dressed Lively, who plays a fashion P. R. mogul, in outfits that were objectively over- the- top for the film’s suburban setting. She strutted around her town while wearing three-piece suits and full-on tuxedos, and occasionally, without realizing it, she carried a walking stick.
“I think there is always a deeper mindset when someone dresses really distinctively in the same way—almost branding yourself, protecting herself, and, at the same time, disguising herself”, Kalfus explained of Lively’s styling.
It will require a thorough investigation to understand why Lively’s character is now traipsing through Italy covered in rows and rows of pearls. This glaring look at the costumes is sufficient to get people to watch the movie’s eventual premiere.
