The Duchess of Edinburgh has provided us with plenty of inspiration for our previous year, and her most recent outfit couldn’t have been more sophisticated and understated. The senior royal made sure her outfit didn’t distract from the poignancy of the day when she attended the UK National Service of Remembrance on 6th June. She is an expert at adapting her style for a variety of official events. On the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the title given to the day 156, 000 Military soldiers made their way to the French shores, this was held by the Royal British Legion at The National Memorial Arboretum.
Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie accompanied her on this profound event, and she wore a plain white and green outfit. Her coat was a classic white one made of wool with a proper shirt and a cropped suit that sat perfectly above the flowing trousers of her gown.

Suzannah London and French photographer and artist Rachel Levy collaborated on this special printing. Duchess Sophie’s green gown has three-quarter size sleeves with a beneath, elasticated sleeve, and the cornea pattern was printed on the green velvet crepe de chine.
The Duchess of Edinburgh frequently gravitates toward a drink dress style and an attractive, empire-length image. The Remembrance Service featured veterans’ first-person accounts, and it ended with a wreath-laying and work of memory. King Charles and Queen Camilla observed D-Day in France at the American Normandy Memorial that evening, and His Majesty delivered a speech.
