For the last century, Hughes has honed her art.

“I generally just try to make what comes to me,” Hughes said.

It was a love that developed in the most unanticipated means for her.

“In 2012, I had lower hardwood integration. I couldn’t work anymore, but I found out I was having a granddaughter, and I decided to buy a sewing machine and make her some clothes”, Hughes explained.

Her skill expanded even further from there.

“It became its own business. More individuals started reaching out to me, and as a result, I started to live off of this.

Then, Hughes sells her tailor-made- made embellished dresses digitally, in her companion Basia’s shop in West Allis, and in roll- up shops across the area.

That’s how Hughes’ latest Instagram post went viral after she shared that one of her habit clothes, worthwhile $1, 500, was stolen by youth next Sunday. Rae was tagged in the same article as this.

“There was a group of women that came in together, one particular woman who tried on a costume, called me over while she was trying on her dress, and she was asking me a lot of questions, and she took the gown off, and she decided not to find it”, Hughes said.

While distracted, Hughes said the woman’s friends stole the dress off the plate and left.

“I was hurt because I feel like I did it all for everything. If she had talked to me, I would’ve helped her out like I helped the other girls out it”, Hughes added.

A phrase that Hughes existence by while using her talents.

“Everyone wants to look fantastic on their specific day, but I am aware that not everyone can manage it. I was once that parent who couldn’t afford it. I just wanted to convey that I would’ve helped her, that’s it, that’s all. Individuals have blessed me, I want to thank some”, Hughes explained.
