If you’ve been wracking your brains trying to figure out what’s going on with’ s recent festival of clothes, you’re not alone.
The actress has recently taken to the streets of New York in a number of expensive floral frocks, some complex denim, and a lot of mind-ogling matching sets as she promotes her new movie, It Ends With Us.
We can’t quite pinpoint what has changed, but for me, it all started with the bedazzled mushroom purse.
At the launch event for her new hair-care series, the star, who famously styles herself, attended the event in a bright embroidered, fish-covered “Under the Sea” little costume by Dauphinette, accessorized with sparkling sapphire red slippers and the mushroom purse (which she expressed her love for during the event). Yes, there was a lot of look, but there was also a lot of it in the various Dauphinette looks she’s featured last year, including the three-piece pastel dress she wore with rainbow heels, a black leather jacket, and a pair of bright floral shorts.
The actress was photographed wearing dark pumps and red lips over bright-yellow stockings of the same printing on Sunday. Then there are the denim-related occurrences. For instance, she spent the night wearing bejeweled Versace jeans with a large diamond top and logo boxers. Or my all-time favorite outfit, which is a Tory Burch container and Stella McCartney leather pair of jeans, which she then wears with a large, thick cardigan off her shoulders. But then, just hours before, the actress looked classy on the same day in a micro-floral Dior suit (though it was mix-matched with the polka-dot Mary Janes).
Now, Ms. Lively doesn’t usually. She has always been a fan of a strong, black suit style and is a huge fan of womanly dresses. However, it’s possible that Eric Daman, who she recently collaborated with on Gossip Girl, is to blame for her recent appearances. Come recall how many Serena loved her mix-matched levels and usually thick accessories.

Generally, there have been a lot of images, a lot of textures, and a lot of accessories — we all know Blake you surprise on a red floor, but these new looks have felt like a departure from her normal fashion.
