Friends referred to Amy Astrauskas as “the guest with the mostest.”

“Because she was constantly throwing a party or decorating a board”, Emily Elizabeth Creighton, 28, tells of her late mother.

Astrauskas planned all community events, including vacations and her brother Michael’s 2017 ceremony. So Creighton, who is single, wasn’t surprised when a dying Astrauskas suggested they go wedding gown shopping.

At the time, Astrauskas was battling stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer, and her prognosis wasn’t good. Astrauskas was able to assist her in choosing a dress because she knew she hadn’t live longer enough to move her daughter down the aisle.

Astrauskas booked a consultation with Free Love Bridal in Cape May, New Jersey.

“She lied and said I was getting married”! Creighton says, with a grin.

On Instagram, Creighton, an artist in New York City, shared images from the cheerful try-on program. In the picture, Creighton recalled how the professionals popped vodka and asked a “million” inquiries about her “non-existent” fiancé. Creighton and Astrauskas enjoyed creating a Joey-themed history for themselves.

“Actually, one of the funniest and saddest moments of my life”, Creighton said in the clip. “But then, even though she’s gone, I get to say she helped me to pick out my marriage clothing.”

Creighton describes her dress as “traditional,” with hands and buttons down the back.

“As soon as I put it on, we were like,’ Yup, this is it”, Creighton says. “My father, you can see him in the movie, he’s like sleep on the sofa. He had no attention. But my mother was just in her brilliance”.

Creighton claims she couldn’t justify the price because Astrauskas wanted her to buy the dress that day.

Astrauskas passed away in March 2021 at the age of 63.

“On her deathbed she was like,’ I think you should go get the dress. I think you should have it,'” Creighton remembers.

Creighton claims the shroud and clothing from Astrauskas ‘ tears are on hold at the business until she sees her people. Her marriage will have all the information she and Astrauskas discussed including, pink flowers and a “fabulous” sit circle at the reception.

The only thing that has changed is that my mother anticipated a gentleman walking the other way down the aisle. According to Creighton, she mentions that she became queer in 2022. She would have been perfectly okay with it because she was the most lovable and accepting man. My mother never wanted me to be happy; all she ever wanted was that I would get.
