For the Milan leg of her “Eras” journey, debuted a new tiger-print Roberto Cavalli minidress, designed by Fausto Puglisi. For her continued visit, the designer created 20 looks, including those created by a number of other designers. Earlier this month, kicked off her “Out of This World” summer excursion with eight unique looks and almost 250 complete outfits, created in collaboration with June Ambrose. Prior to this, Ambrose referred to WWD’s “performance clothing with wardrobe design attributes.”
When players take the stage, they know that what they’re wearing plays a key role in the performance practice. The operation behind creating those tour looks is highlighted in “Dress My Tour,” a brand-new spontaneous design competition series.
“There’s so many iconic tour outfits”, says model and “Dress My Tour” host Kate Upton, who stars in the show for Hulu. “Musicians use clothing, especially on journeys, to further the tale of their music and of that performance,” Upton says. It’s enjoyable to witness that come to life in this contest line. Every show, there are music guests, so the designers get real-world experience when they show these musicians their designs and stories.
“Dress My Tour” features 11 aspiring designers, all competing for the show’s final $100, 000 prize. A unique guest music artist serves as the judge for each episode’s unique design challenge. Along with courts Marina Toybina, a mask custom, and artistic director Laurieann Gibson, Upton serves as a leader throughout the set. “We definitely know who]the finalists] are, and what they’re wonderful at. So it’s definitely seeing if they continue to push themselves, if they take creative criticism”, says Upton on getting to see the manufacturers evolve throughout the procedure.
Guest courts include Paula Abdul, JoJo Siwa, Ty Dolla$ game, Toni Braxton, singer JT, French Montana, Coi Leray, and Jessie James Decker.
Each musician’s contribution to the panel’s decision to choose a gown was that it was made for them, and, according to Upton, each challenge focused on knowing who they are, what their design is, or what they’re looking for. Promotional clothing is a key component of the challenge, which Upton says. ” Moreover, there’s a great performance aspect of this show, where instead of concepts walking down the runway, it’s dancing performing in it”, Upton adds. ” So you want to make sure there’s no big wardrobe problems”.
All 10 shows of” Dress My Journey” will launch on Tuesday. ” It’s a truly high-energy, joy show”, Upton says. You can actually view the glitz and glam on camera, he said.
The design reflects on some of the wonderful tours she’s taken in the last year ahead of the collection release.
“Next time I saw Taylor Swift. For an iconic present. I got to notice Beyoncé last year in Houston— which was really entertaining, being in her home. And I really saw Justin Timberlake in New York, too,” adds Upton. ” It’s always entertaining to watch tour, especially now, having a look behind the scenes at the fashion factor.”
