A quarter of a century after, is reflecting on a look that has just made a comeback.

After claimed to be the first person to use an historical appearance created by in 1999 at this year’s, Ryder, 52, has confirmed she modeled the design 25 years earlier for Flaunt Magazine.

‘I heard about that,’ Ryder told after Jenner, 28, said on the dark carpet in May that she’s to wear the dress.

‘I do realize that image capture. It was with my darling friend and makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin’ said Ryder.

‘And I did use it. I have photographs,’ she added. ‘The artist provided me with some designs. I’m in a tweed in one of them, and I’m in that gown.’

After Kendall Jenner claimed to be the first person to wear an archival Givenchy look created by Alexander McQueen in 1999 at this year's Met Gala, Winona Ryder has confirmed she modeled the piece back then for Flaunt Magazine
'I heard about that,' Ryder told Harper's Bazaar after Jenner said on the red carpet in May that she's the 'first human' to wear the dress

Jenner formerly told that the gown was ‘practically a sleeping charm,’ keeping with the Costume Institute Benefit’s ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ design.

‘It’s been sleeping for the last 25 ages,’ said Jenner, adding: ‘It’s like a specific time. I’m very grateful that they’ve allowed me to use it.’

Givenchy made it clear at the time that Ryder wore a duplicate in the 1999 Flaunt film, making Jenner the first to do so in that particular outfit.

Photographer Warwick Saint, who shot the Flaunt support of Ryder, originally shared the photographs after Jenner’s Met vacation.

According to Saint, “I photographed this picture of Winona Ryder wearing this genuine Givenchy dress up in 1999.”

‘It was captured at Dairy Studios for Flaunt Magazine, with beauty by Kevin Aucoin, locks by Ward, and appearance by Kithe Brewster,’ he recalled.

According to Saint, “Interestingly, Kendall Jenner claimed she was the first to use this dress, and a few people have reached out to me asking if it was traditional. It certainly was the true Givenchy dress for certain.”

Jenner quickly received criticism for blatantly infuriating viewers about the nature of her appearance.

What a hoax, Kendall Jenner may not be the first to use a Givenchy by McQueen gown, they say. on X, wrote one man.

'And I did wear it. I have pictures,' added Ryder. 'The photographer gave me some prints. I'm in a tartan in one of them, and I'm in that dress'
Givenchy previously clarified that Ryder wore a replica in her 1999 Flaunt shoot, meaning Jenner was the first person to wear that specific dress

‘No positive why Kendall said she’s the first person to use it, she may not have known it was worn before unless Winona’s type isn’t the initial,’ another added.

Some criticized the Kardashians sun, saying, “I’m not good. Sorry, but I doubt that Winona, who is 5’3 and is going to fit into a bit that’s like 5’10, will match. It’s certainly a duplicate,” one person wrote.

Some of you may be having a vendetta against Kendall that doesn’t encourage you to use your brain properly ( not to the op ), they continued.
