Rehearsing for ‘The Rake’s Progress’

The solid, ensemble and team went through a dress rehearsal of Igor Stravinsky’s 1951 theater “The Rake’s Development” on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, as part of the Lakes Area Music Festival at the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts in Brainerd.

Public appearances may become 7: 30 p. m. Saturday, Aug. 10, and 3 p. m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts in Brainerd.

Tom Rakewell, who deserts his remote home town and his girlfriend Anne Trulove for the pleasures of London, is the subject of the account. Being seduced by greed and renown under the charm of his wicked friend, Nick Shadow, Tom meets his spiritual, emotional, and physical fate. The Devil finds work for indolent emotions, arms, and thoughts, according to the tale’s final lesson.
