Olivia Culpo has broken her silence over the criticism of her “traditional and conservative” wedding dress a fortnight after her engagement to Christian McCaffrey.

Culpo, 32, who along with NFL superstar McCaffrey, 28, for branding her Dolce & Gabbana dress as ‘nothing’, was resoundingly criticized for her high-necked ensemble and a Vogue Interview in which she revealed her husband found her ‘most lovely when’s she wearing something amazing, covered and beautiful.’

Culpo told: ‘I was certainly very surprised. Personally, I believe that I like to offer individuals the benefit of the doubt. And sadly, I feel as though the words I said were spelled out of context in order to meet an agenda I did not possess.’

I adored every aspect of my marriage because I adored my partner and the people we had the opportunity to enjoy with that day. The decisions I made were ones I wanted to be proud of for 50 years. And that’s it.

She stated about the gown, “I wanted to feel like myself in every way possible,” And I believe that’s where my determination to be more down-to-earth comes from.

Olivia Culpo has broken her silence over the backlash to her 'traditional and conservative' wedding gown one month after her nuptials to Christian McCaffrey
Christian McCaffrey, 28, came to the defense of his wife, Olivia Culpo, 32, after a style influencer labeled her Dolce & Gabbana wedding dress as 'nothing' and 'absence of personality'; seen in 2023 in L.A.

‘Stylistically I had a perspective. Aesthetically, I felt like I was making a decision that was going to stand the test of time, and that’s it. I felt very comfortable in it, for what it’s for. I was on the ocean, and the weather was quite good.’

She previously said of the gown: ‘I didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape or form.’

After a fashion influence called her Dolce & Gabbana wedding dress “nothing” and the “absence of personality,” McCaffrey defended his wife earlier this month.

The NFL star- who in- jumped to the post area of Kennedy Bingham’s where she shared her view of the dress.

‘What an terrible thing to publish on-line, ‘the San Francisco 49ers running up penned.’ I sincerely hope that you will find pleasure and tranquility in the world like my lovely wife does.

But, Bingham responded to the sports celebrity and written,’ @christianmccaffrey So what’s bad is pointing out the possible absorbed misogyny behind her reasoning…’

‘Your (imo) patriarchal comment, and the racist/ homophobic/fatphobic history of the designers she worked with?’

In the opinion part of the same clip uploaded to the influencer’s TikTok website, Olivia herself shared her feelings, even clapping again at Kennedy’s criticism.

Wow, what an completely cruel person you are. I hope no one ever grief you apart in this way because it’s so painful. The model wrote, “I love this dress and it was all I always wanted and more.”

Culpo told People : 'I was definitely very surprised. I feel like I personally like to give people the benefit of the doubt. And unfortunately, I feel like the words I said were spun out of context to fit an agenda that I did not have - pictured 2023

Bingham uploaded a picture of Culpo’s reply to her own Instagram reports, as well as her email.

So we won’t be accepting your comments or the background of the designers you’re supporting, so why?

Kennedy added, “Why do they keep using the term evil?,” and added, “Why did they keep using the word bad?” in additional words.

Like D&G calling IVF babies synthetic wasn’t bad enough for you, but talking about your wedding dress crosses the line, right? the celebrity asked.

The media personality, who already has almost 100k fans, kicked off the almost six-minute picture by saying, “I have been a bridal father for almost four years, and I have never said this earlier. But I do not like this wedding dress.”

She previously said of the gown: 'I didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape or form'

She explained that if she were just looking at the dress, ‘I would see a beautiful bride and a beautiful, simple, elegant dress.’

However, Bingham added, ‘But it’s the stuff surrounding the dress that leaves kind of a bitter after taste.’

Kennedy then referenced to Olivia’s recent interview with where she talked about the wedding gown, and explained she ‘didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape, or form.’

‘There is nothing wrong with wanting a modest wedding dress, or just modest attire in general,’ she continued, but then added Culpo ‘pushed this idea of what she thinks all brides should look like.’

‘Therefore, it’s really strange to me to view this as a sexless design because both you can choose to do it in your own hands if you don’t want to have sex in this gown and people can choose not to do that.

Her two statements next to each other are a very poetic way of saying that you are asking for whatever you are dressed as, which is a very harmful way of thinking.

Earlier this month McCaffrey came to the defense of his wife after a style influencer labeled her Dolce & Gabbana wedding dress as 'nothing' and the 'absence of personality'
'Wow what an absolutely evil person you are. I hope no one ever tears you apart in this way because it's extremely hurtful. I love this dress and it was everything I ever wanted and more,' the model penned
'There is nothing wrong with wanting a modest wedding dress, or just modest attire in general,' she continued, but then added Culpo 'pushed this idea of what she thinks all brides should look like'

Bingham then stated that she thought it was “unusual” how Culpo talks about coverage, especially given that she is not exactly a modest dresser in her day-to-day life.

‘She even says her husband thinks she’s the most beautiful when she is timeless, covered and elegant. I just think the usage of the word” covered” is so icky because you are not covered in day-to-day life.’

‘Why does he believe that you are the most attractive when you are covered, too? That’s just such an odd thing,’ Kennedy said.

She also claimed it was “unusual” for Culpo to promote a “conservative agenda” and that she was drawing people’s attention back to the wedding gown.

‘There is no personality in this dress,’ and added, ‘This is just nothing. It is the absence of personality.’

In conclusion, Kennedy said, ‘It’s very clear this was not a wedding. This was a conservative campaign, and it wasn’t even well done… ‘

Olivia discussed her wedding dress and wedding gown, both of which were created by Italian brand Dolce & Gabbana while we were talking. What I wanted for my ceremony dress was a very clear idea to me.

‘I have worked with Dolce & Gabbana for years, so it was incredibly special to collaborate with Stefano Gabbana, Domenico Dolce, and the exceptional design and atelier team.’

Long sleeves, a full skirt, a train, and a row of buttons on the back secured the dress in the crepe ball gown.

A 16-foot sheer veil was added on top of her head to complete the look and had an embroidered, lace trim.

‘I didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape, or form,’ Culpo said of the wedding dress. ‘I wanted it to feel simple and as though it complimented me rather than overshadowing me. There’s so much beauty and simplicity.’

I really wanted the simplicity of each component to perfectly harmonize, saying, “I never felt more beautiful than when I was wearing my ceremony dress and under my veil.”

Olivia and Christian said, “I do,” at a chapel at the historic Ocean House Resort in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, over the weekend.

The ceremony, which took place in front of their close family and friends, left them feeling as though there were only themselves and I, even with so many people present.

For the reception, the star wore a strapless, white minidress with a sheer, caged hooped skirt for a unique flare. It was paired with opera-length white gloves and closed-toed white heels.
