At yesterday’s ESPY Awards, Meghan Markle sported a white dress that resembled her magnificent reception dress in a stylish tribute to her star-studded 2018 wedding.

The, 42, put on a dazzling show at Thursday’s night’s awards meeting, where she happily watched on as her father accepted the, an honor that has.

Harry, 39, and Meghan looked every inch the great Hollywood partners as they attended the ceremony, gladly beaming for the cameras as their near friend yelled out to them despite skipping the red carpet for the awards show amid the scandal.

While Harry and his acceptance of the award were the focus of attention, royal watchers were likewise abuzz with a different, hot topic: Meghan’s attractive halterneck gown and the striking similarities between her dress from the 2018 reception.

The two styles appear almost identical to one another, with the exception of Meghan’s choice of clothing for the ESPYs, which had draped fabric around her throat while her was more strongly fitting.

However, fans could hardly help but draw comparisons between the two, with one X user remarking: ‘That style dress is amazing on Meghan- it’s giving her wedding reception vibes.’

Another added: ‘She loves black! The clothing reminds me of her second marriage dress.’

Meghan chose to put her brown shoulders on full screen at the ESPYs by slicing back her locks in a stylish small muffin, which was a different look from the couple’s wedding reception, where Meghan wore her hair loosely bun with some wavy tresses framing her face.

She kept her makeup natural, donning some peachy blush on her cheeks, layers of mascara, and some smokey eyeshadow.

Meghan opted for limited accessories, wearing a pair of diamond stud earrings, her beloved $7, 350 gold Cartier Love Bracelet, her wedding and engagement ring, and a large gold and diamond ring on her other hand.

In place of bridal white heels, the mother-of-two chose a pair of strappy black heels, revealing her pale pink pedicure, which matched the same neutral shade she wore on her nails.

The Duchess had the opportunity to show off her dress in front of the cameras after her husband’s performance backstage at the event, but Meghan and Harry chose to skip the red carpet due to the outcry over his award.

The two women, back in 2010, were seen embracing one another, before turning to face the cameras for photos, even posing for a few snaps with Harry.

While Meghan was seated next to her husband, holding her hand on his knee during the awards ceremony, pictures taken inside of the ceremony show him beaming with pride.

Meghan stepped out of her seat to give her husband a standing ovation as he made his way up onto the stage in his honor when Harry’s win was revealed.

The award, which was named for the legendary NFL player who abandoned his lucrative career to join the army in the wake of September 11 and his tragic death in Afghanistan in 2004, has sparked a contentious debate, with some claiming that the award is intended to be presented to unsung veterans.

Mary, Tillman’s own mother, revealed to Daily Mail.com last month that she was “shocked” that the ESPYs would “choose such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award,” adding that she was not consulted about the decision.

‘There are recipients that are far more fitting. There are people who are doing incredibly well for veterans in the veteran community,’ she said.

‘These individuals do not have the money, resources, connections or privilege that Prince Harry has. I feel that those types of individuals should be recognized.’

The award is named after Pat Tillman, the iconic NFL player who gave up his lucrative career to enlist in the army in the wake of 9/11 before his death in Afghanistan in 2004

The most recent controversy started almost immediately after ESPN announced on June 27 that Harry would receive the Pat Tillman Award for Service.

Nearly 68, 000 people signed a petition urging ESPN to reconsider its decision in ten days.

It said: ‘Pat Tillman exemplified duty, honor, and sacrifice.’

After the 9/11 attacks, he gave up his successful NFL career to fight for his country, and sadly lost his life while serving. Giving this honor to someone who doesn’t represent the intended recipient diminishes its worth and disrespects Tillman’s legacy.

In a statement, ESPN, which runs the ESPYs, stood by its decision, noting that it was honoring Harry for the work he has done for veterans through his Invictus Games.

The Invictus Games Foundation, which is celebrating its 10th year of supporting healing through the power of sport for military service members and veterans around the world, is honored on ESPN, with the support of the Tillman Foundation, in a statement that read, “with the support of the support of the Tillman Foundation, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.”

The Invictus Games Foundation does incredible work, and ESPN considers this a cause worthy of celebration. “While we understand not everyone will agree with all honorees selected for any award, we do not.”
