Because his bride-to-be spent$ 10,000 on her wedding dress, a man canceled his honeymoon without telling his bride-to-be.

“I left my fiancée to get her bridal gown because I thought she would be sophisticated enough to remain within our funds”, Redditor u/DigSpecialist5111 wrote in on the favorite r/AmITheA****** post. “I found out that she spent $10, 000 on a dress she will wear once”.

Stunned by the decision, the poster revealed he canceled their honeymoon, concerned about the cost. “We can’t afford both the dress and the honeymoon trip”, he said. “I immediately canceled our honeymoon trip… if we had waited any longer, it would have been a lot more pricey to cancel”.

However, his fiancee was furious about the cancellation and claimed that she had made compromises during other aspects of their wedding to be able to purchase her dream dress. “She said I had no right to cancel the honeymoon”, DigSpecialist5111 said. “If I didn’t fix it, she would go on the honeymoon alone”.

Relationship expert and CEO of Droben Matchmaking, Ksenia Droben, weighed in on the relationship dilemma. “I see a situation where no one talks to anyone”, she told Newsweek. The bride “purchased an expensive dress without talking to the groom, who then canceled the honeymoon without consulting her,” the bride said.

“The wedding only lasts one day,” he said. If the couple has a lot of money, $10, 000 can be spent. But if there is no such money, then the bride is already showing her inability to count and manage money”, Droben explained. She claimed that canceling the trip without consulting his partner demonstrated immaturity in the groom-to-be.

The couple must become adults-ready to start a relationship with adults. At this stage, they communicate like two spoiled, moody children.

On, the post received thousands of upvotes, which sparked debates among those with opposing viewpoints.

Redditors like Cultural_Card_2603 criticized both parties and wrote: “She bought an expensive wedding dress without informing you and without warning you canceled the honeymoon. You both appear to make significant decisions without the other’s approval.”

While Proper-Marsupial-453 advised the man to leave: “You should nope out ASAP. This has dumpster fire vibes.”

Other commenters said both needed to consider whether they were ready to get married, saying, “Perhaps you two aren’t mature enough to have conversations about these kinds of things.”
