Marks & Spencer ( M&S ) has launched a new clothing repair service in association with SOJO, which is supported by the £1 million Plan A Accelerator Fund. By making garments fixes more affordable, this initiative aims to reduce jute waste and encourage the circular economy.

Service Details:

Beginning in August, M&S customers can make upgrades online using the” M&S Fixed by SOJO” online hub. Through a straightforward online form, the services range from postal replacements to unknown knitwear repair. The price of repairs starts at only £5, with garments arriving straight from SOJO’s in-house repair team within 7 to 10 days.

Partnership Vision:

Consumers can now use our fresh repair service or our long-standing clothing recycling scheme to give their clothes another existence by launching our repair company.

Round Business Efforts:

The” M&S Fixed by SOJO” hub supports M&S’s Plan A roadmap, which aims to drive the circular economy by reducing textile waste. According to WRAP, a climate actions NGO, 1.6 billion items of clothing in UK outfits are worn, averaging 31 products per person. By offering maintenance services, M&S encourages consumers to give their attire “Another Life”.

The Beauty Takeback Scheme with Handle and the long-standing clothing donation partnership with Oxfam, which has since been renamed “Shwopping,” are all included in M&S’ new “Another Life” platform. The platform may even have 60- next “how- to” videos on garment care, created by M&S’s team of in- house professional experts.

Business Impact:

Last year, M&S published its quarterly ESG Report 2024, revealing significant improvement on its Plan A strategy. Modern projects like an online post test with Oxfam have also been supported by the Plan A Accelerator Fund, which supports quick action against climate change. Customers were able to volunteer both smart and non-durable clothing to Oxfam for reuse, recycling, and resale.
