After asking her bridesmaids to wear all of their wedding gowns, a bride left customers “shocked” because she wanted them to “get the interest they deserved.”
Kirsty Stewart, from Moseley, Liverpool, got married to Andrew Stewart on 15 June at Pryors Hayes Golf Club, Cheshire, and requested her five girls wear light on her big time- yet buying them clothes designed for brides.
The 33-year-old wanted her bridal party to go with her “neutral” color scheme and made the decision to purchase bridal gowns she found on ASOS for around £150 in hopes that it would make her loved ones experience “special.”
Despite her bridesmaid’s first concerns, the ‘assured’ bride believed she would nonetheless ‘stand out’ in her £2, 300 dress from Natalie Ann Brides.
The city nurse chief said Kirsty wanted her bridal party to be a “massive” part of the festivities, even though many wives feared being seen on their wedding day.
They should be praised, Kirsty said, because they were a significant portion of my day. I didn’t feel like it’d take any attention off me at all. We’re all truly nearby.
‘I wanted something a little bit unique. I came across the garments and thought they’d fit one’s style. They were really called bridal gowns. I actually liked them.’
‘I knew I often wanted to have it because it work really well with the negative, romantic, candlestick- lit theme of the marriage. I thought having us all the same was truly great.’
‘The guys always wear the same match as the man so I thought’ ‘why shouldn’t the bridesmaid’s use the same coloring?’
‘My bridesmaids were saying ”are you sure, we don’t want to take any attention off you”. I said ‘no,’ you are a major part of the day. You should also be kept at eye on it. It was really good for them to receive the care they deserved.’
‘We did find a lot of frightened people. However, all of the visitors were close friends and family members, so they all knew I was the wedding.’
The wife revealed that she believed her gown, which was somewhat different to her brides, also made her ‘remain out’ and she felt ‘assured in herself’ independently.
Kirsty remarked, “My clothing had speech hands on it, so it was distinct, and my hair was unique. I had the confidence to stand out.”
‘But as the wedding you do think confident in yourself. It’s a moment to feeling good about yourself. It was really beautiful. I couldn’t have asked for it to go any better.’
Lorna Eames, one of the five girls, revealed the couple’s choice of clothing made her feel “really special” and reminded her of the outfit she wore to her own abduction in December 2023.
Lorna, who is a 32- year- ancient finance worker and even lives in Moseley, Liverpool, said: ‘I felt truly unique in the dress and that’s how Kirsty wanted us to think. She desired for us to have our own moment.’
‘I expected Kirsty to try something out of the ordinary. She’s got a very keen eye for style. I adored it right away.’
‘It felt amazing. Since I married in December of last year, my wedding dress probably wasn’t much more than the bridesmaid dress.’
