Her future sister-in-law ordered a stunning wedding gown, but she warned her that it might offender the traditional family members

When planning a wedding, the bride wants every aspect to be great.

That is doubly true when choosing the ideal bridal gown.

When one criticizes the outfit, it may come off as a personal assault and end badly.

OP is in warm water for telling a bride-to-be that her dress is very concealing and may cause issues, despite having the best of intentions in.

Let’s see if she was an AH, or simply a nurturing future girl- in- rules.

My brother is getting married soon, and his fiancée chose a pretty revealing bridal gown.

Everyone has their own aesthetic, and people may dress as they please on their wedding day.

It’s lower- cut, with a knee- higher slit and a pure back.

Although our family is quite conservative and opinionated, I’m all for people to wear what they want, especially with our grandparents (talking people leaving on the wedding-style drama).

Usually, I would assume that OP should keep her thoughts to herself, but it seems like she was doing it in tact and style.

I carefully suggested she might want to evaluate her choice at a dinner with our older family, explaining the possible reactions.

I made sure to state that I completely regard it, and that I wanted to at least inform her of what might happen.

Hmm, this seems like an overstatement from the wedding and her fiancée.

She became really upset and said it was her marriage and that she would use whatever she wanted.

My nephew is now furious and accuses me of trying to control their marriage.

Wow. This is a very tough position. I believe I may have kept my mouth shut.

Some of my home individuals believe that I was just out looking for her, while some claim that I overstepped.

Was it bad for me to mention that my brother’s fiancee’s wedding dress might not be appropriate for our conservative family?

AITA?

This account has two edges to it, in my opinion.

I do declare the bride to be completely the AH if OP had addressed this matter in front of everyone or in a harsh manner.

She did it in a very mild and friendly manner, and I’m inclined to say that she is not the AH.

One more thing: She ought to have done it before purchasing the outfit, if that were possible, because her upcoming sister-in-law is most likely already in love with it at this time.

I’m actually torn on this one, let’s see what different People had to say.

This Redditor does produce a valid place. Sometimes OP should have been more sympathetic.

I think this opinion is a little unpleasant, but I get it.

Great problem. I didn’t even think of that.

In my opinion, this man properly sums up the situation.

Maybe it’s best to keep your opinions to yourself.
