The pop icon hasn’t released a new album in seven years, according to longtime fans. Sure, she’s dropped a dozen chart- topping songs and cooperation since then (believe “Lift Me Up” on the Wakanda Forever soundtrack), but the last time we were blessed with a complete- length RiRi venture was with her 2016 song, ANTI. Although her devoted fan base has been holding out for new music for the past seven years, it’s probable that the multi-hyphenate only reinforced our worst concerns. On June 6, Rihanna styled a custom super dress by New York-based custom Conner Ives with bold letters emblazoned with the phrases “I’m Retired” in bold print.
There’s no question Rihanna’s are often title- capable, but this custom search might just be her buzziest of the year (so far). The A-lister was photographed by paparazzi in the preceding Connor Ives creation, complete with a princess navy floor-length skirt connected to the creative tee in a better blue, while taking a mid-day stroll with A$ AP Rocky. Her warm T- clothing featured the term, “I’m Retired. This Is As Dressed Up As I Get”, which is a classic style from, a Boston- based brand active in the ’80s and ’90s. RiRi’s general dress was a reimagining of from his Spring/Summer 2024 set. From there, she continued to wear her original components, starting with a vintage Bottega Veneta bag in lime green and red Puma sneakers. This was a wise choice for the international brand ambassador. The Grammy-winning actress added a little bling to her last outfit with a variety of necklaces with layers of herringbone.

Let’s be clear: Rihanna is anything other than a retired person, if you haven’t already placed an order with any of her three brands (soon to be four). Between Fenty Beauty, Savage X Fenty, Fenty Skin, her multi- time collab with Puma, and more, the trend artist is truly booked and active. Which is exactly what is leading people to believe that this statement-making artist is referring to her musical job. Ives himself even eluded to the Easter egg with his, “Always sending messages.” The comment section on the writer’s IG article is full of anxious RiRi admirers — one disciple said, “Rush does that imply she’s not doing music again?” while another commenter shared, “Fine … We’ll just ask RZA and Riot for the album”. Fingers crossed her OOTD was merely a joke.
Now, don’t be too discouraged by Rihanna’s sartorial message. She was teasing information about her probable seventh studio album just over a fortnight ago. She told a Fenty Beauty event on April 27 that her new song is “gonna be wonderful.” That is the only way it isn’t out yet, so it has to be. So, don’t give up hope.
