Every kid in Westchester may have a fun and exciting experience, according to County Executive George Latimer. No child should be forced to stay at home because they can’t afford a pair of shoes. Noel and Operation Prom have worked tirelessly to ensure that every student in Westchester you shine on prom night for 20 years, and the County is proud that we are still supporting that work, which includes providing free bus transportation for participants as well. Requesting a prom date or making sure you do your party moves up is difficult enough without having to decide whether or not you can afford a suit or a great outfit.

Leonard Townes, a director for the Department of Social Services, stated: “Prom costs may get hundreds of dollars, a price that many Westchester families cannot afford. No family in Westchester has to explain to a child that they can’t afford a dress or tux because of Operation Prom. Seeing the boys putting on these high quality clothing, and the raise to their self-esteem and self-confidence is truly inspiring. Noel and Operation Prom deserve special recognition for bringing this opportunity to an entire era of Westchester kids. ”

Noel D’Allacco-Ammirati, leader of the Operation Prom National Network, Inc. , said: “For two centuries, Westchester County has been a core lover for Operation Prom. For their ongoing support for younger people and their families in Westchester, County Executive Latimer and Commissioner Townes, I want to bless them. This Queens native takes pride in having companions in County authorities who genuinely care about people in need because it has been a crucial part of allowing us to do what we do.”
