A brave designer will be auctioned off to make an almost identical copy of the questionable see-through dress Kate Moss was reportedly photographed wearing to a 1993 group.
that the appearance- a- like lamé slipdress — made by Liza Bruce, who designed Moss’ dress — may be part of its Vintage Fashion bid “Antique Costume & Textiles” on April 16.
The copy is anticipated to fetch between $250 and $380, according to the London-based auction house.
The initial was taken from Bruce’s spring 1994 set and wore by Moss to the “Appearance of the Year” mock hosted by Elite Model Management in London.
The supermodel, then 50, completed her appearance with a dark thong, matching knock- flops, a new face, a messy updo and a lit cigarette.
The brave outfit later became one of the most recognizable dresses in history, inspiring many more, including her child at the Fashion Awards 2023.
Although Moss’ spaghetti strap gown has been accused of aiding, they may be eager to win their bids.
You mean the outfit that caused a plethora of eating problems? In response to the auction last year, one said, “I want to buy this dress just so I can provide it a symbolic burning.”
“This is terrible on so many degrees … And I work in fashion”, another commented. “It’s sexy only because she was severely underweight. The clothing is “dumb because it gives everything.”
Moss has claimed for her part that she had no notion how much she was dazzled by that clothing.
The concept last year described some of her most recognizable looks as “I did not know that this costume was see-through until the pictures came out the next day in the newspapers.”
“It was the flash that made it look naked because, actually, the fabric, when I was wearing it, I didn’t think it looked this see- through, but obviously it was”, she continued. “Had I known we may be talking about it 30 years after … Great clothing, good day”.
One of these silver pass garments, which is apparently a collection at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, was only created by Bruce.
The Kerry Taylor auction will also include the exact T-shirt that Moss wore on the support of i-D Magazine in June 2004 as well as a selection of classic pieces from Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Vivienne Westwood, and Gianni Versace.
