People people for one thing or another. No matter how they dress, someone will be present to hear their opinion. Hilary Flips, a stay-at-home mother known as TikTok, also experienced something similar when one of her daughters visited the library and complained to the library about her costume. “Pardon me while I wear cropped tops and high-waist shorts until I’m,” I ask. Turns captioned her post, “Might yet return my bellybutton ring for more flair.”
She did not anticipate meeting the teacher, who was unhappy with the mother’s choice of attire in people. Flips shared on the video that she had outfitted herself at her local library at Baby Storytime, “I only got dress-coded at our local library at Baby Storytime. So this is what I wore, a small cropped shirt condition”, she said, displaying an adorable dog write gray shirt. “It’s from like, the girl area. It’s that like strange Wild Fable product. Definitely not age- appropriate, whichever. These jeans—they’re Major Shop baby jeans. A thousand years old. I wore these jeans, which are known as the baby jeans. And I thought why hardly a shirt? It’s like, a step away from my usual sweater, t- clothing, leggings, jeans condition. But, I was feeling great about myself.”
Nevertheless, she could not love in her attire for longer. Turns then went on to explain how her young ladies’ lack of quiet and concentration during library visits can cause them to become a little chaotic. So when the teacher approached her after the story time program and asked her if she was the “mom or the babysitter,” Flips speculated that the teacher was probably going to make a comment about the behavior of her kids. ” She goes, ‘You should know better’ in like this judgy, sigh, sigh sort of voice. But I soon started apologizing for my kid’s behaviour and I’m like,’ I’m so sorry, you know, it’s really tough for them to stay still like we’re working on it and like that’s kind of why we come below,'” the mom recalled.
But, said something in a million years that Flips had not anticipated hearing. “And she goes,’ No, your clothing’ and I’m thinking,’ Oh my gosh, did I never switch my sweater away? Like what’s happening?’ And she just turns to herself as I realize it’s because the sweater is a little cropped, and when I carry my enormous one-year-old, it raises up and shows maybe one inch of my belly with its adorable little stretched-out belly button, Flips says. “And apparently, that’s inappropriate to show any midriff when you’re edging into 40 and newsflash, I disagree”. The librarian’s comment on her outfit was beyond the comprehension of the casual TikTok users.
“I would try to talk to someone above her about it. Not her place to blame you for your outfit, but you do look cute and appropriate. commented,” The way I would have very loudly said- Oh, I didn’t realize the library had a dress code!?! and draw attention to the whole situation”. quipped,” I’d wear the same outfit next week!! You look amazing!!! Like others have said, it speaks more to her than the outfit you choose to wear! Hugs! Keep being you”! remarked,” My mind is blown. I’ve spent almost 30 years working in all different types of libraries. Never have I ever seen a library staffer call out a patron’s outfit and trust, we’ve seen more than a midriff. During the low- rise jeans phase, the jeans left nothing to the imagination. But a mid- drift? That’s insane”.
