Kris Jenner had some reservations about Kylie Skincare.
The Kylie Lip Kit, the beauty industry’s primary product, which, according to Jennifer Lawrence, “shut down the entire web” in 2015, was not originally sold to her mother during their interview for the magazine Interview.
“You were a young girl who was trying out different beauty. What presented the greatest difficulty in bringing that to actual real? The 33-year-old Little Hard Feelings celebrity questioned, adding that “many people believe that impact makes everything easier, but frequently it can certainly be a hindrance.”
The 26-year-old beauty mogul concurred, telling the celebrity, “Proving people improper was a concern, but so was building it from the ground away.”
She continued, “It was just my mother and I and we never made a cosmetic line. We had no idea where to begin. We didn’t have any assistance. And my mother believed that I would spend the rest of my life with mouth products in my garage.”
The reality star said Kris, 68, was concerned she might be stuck with the products after their launch date and recalled ordering “the minimum” of 5,000 lip kits—liquid lipstick and lip liner—in three colors ( Dolce K, Candy K and True Brown.
She recalled, “You better be prepared, Kylie, because you might include a lot of lip products in your car for the rest of your life.”
Fortunately for Kris and Kylie, the mouth kits quickly ran out, “broking” the computer in the process.
Then, in two hours, it broke, and at that point, we were like, “Okay, how do we accomplish this?” How can we improve and speed up these? Kylie remembered.
The real star recalled that she and Kris “drove all over California” visiting companies after the mouthkits were successful. “Finding the best producer was challenging.” She continued, “We were a new company, so growing in front of many people was difficult,” adding that “you don’t have room to make mistakes.”
She clarified, “But it wasn’t a bad thing.” “It was the best time of my life and it was so productive.”
A Hunger Games alumna asked Kylie what motivated her to begin “contouring lips,” which the artist claims she is responsible for bringing “into the popular” in the first place.
She retorted, “I believe it began because all I wanted were big, fat, juicy lips and the illusion that my lips were wider.” But I didn’t learn from anyone. I wasn’t really working with makeup artists and stuff when I first started doing that.
The Kardashians sun discussed how she explains her career to her children, Stormi, 5, and Aire, 21, whom she shares with ex Travis Scott, in other parts of the meeting.
What do you say Mommy does for a living? Lawrence enquired, to which Kylie replied, “Mommy makes makeup.”
Stormi rocks it, so she doesn’t just know about Kylie Cosmetics.
“Stormi was fiddling with my beauty the day before. She enjoys occasionally putting on a crimson mouth, the reality star admitted.” Certainly just around the house. “Additionally, I like to constantly show her the makeup with my name on it. This is Mommy’s makeup, I’m like. Your mother is actually great.”
Kylie, who earlier this year expanded her kingdom into the fashion industry, claims that Khy, one of her new clothes lines, also includes sports items for her mini-me.
I informed Stormi that Mommy then makes clothes, but my child is too young to understand what is happening. She said, “I have my Khy series coming out, and I made her all mini-versions of all the parts from our first drop. I always go above and beyond for her, and I like her to be a part of all I do.”
